Something you would not find in the Chicago Tribune: The Tooth Corner

Bridgeport Leader December 1997

From the Tooth Corner: First of all, we don’t want to forget Julianne Petty! She lost her tooth on Thursday November 20.  Julianne was eating a pretzel and playing a game called Clue. Julianne bent the tooth down and it fell out! This is her third tooth that she has lost!  No one would believe her at first.  Her baby teeth are so tiny, and we all know how big those permanent teeth can be.  Julianne is a kindergarten student in Mrs. Zeigler’s class.  Dusty Piper is the second report. Dusty lost his tooth on Monday November 24 at 10:35 am.  He went to the restroom and yanked it right out.  Dusty is a 5th grade student in Mr. Thompson’s class.  The next three reports are from Mrs. Schnuck’s kindergarten. Tanara Diggs lost a tooth on November 22.  Her mother pulled it out.  Then on December 2 during school, Tanara pulled another tooth out.  The tooth fairy brought her a dollar for each tooth.  Ashley Dobbs lost a tooth on November 23rd.  Over thanksgiving break Ashley lost two more teeth.   The tooth fairy brought Ashley a dollar for each tooth.  John Michael Morris lost his tooth at Sav-A-Lot. He pulled it out himself while his mom was shopping.  The tooth fairy didn’t leave any money.  However, the tooth was gone! John Michael thought it might be because one of his edges on the tooth was broke off! Last but not least is Zac Straka. Zac lost his tooth at 11:25 on Wednesday December 3rd.  He pulled it out because it was just hanging by the root! Zac did say it hurt just a little!

Blog editor’s note:  I don’t know which is worse, teeth considered news in the local paper, or me typing it on this blog as “history”.  Of course, you did read it so there’s that…….
