Ed Brumley, one of our volunteers, has been busy scanning George Field News and Snafu newspapers. During WWIi these weekly newspapers were filled with the activities (and gossip) about the men and women who were stationed at George Field Army Air Field. We hope once they are scanned to have them digitized and made available to the public on-line.

While we have several copies, we don't have a complete set. So we are asking the community and on-line readers to contact us if they have any of these historic newspapers and allow us to scan them. Just call 908-208-2372 or email lawrencelore@gmail.com

We are aware that some of you are having trouble getting your daily emails for this blog. We are attempting to address these issues. First you should check your spam account as some people have told us the emails end up there. And then, apparently if you don't open them for several days in a row, the algorythm in the program decides to make you inactive.

We have a monthly limit of 5000 emails. We have to pay for each email that goes out whether you open it or not. So if you have subscribed, but have decided you don't have time to read every day, or GASP. . . it doesn't address the local history you want to know, kindly unsubscribe. We are attempting to address the other issues with the emails. Thank you for understanding. (And yes, I do understand if you don't get an email, you won't be able to read this one, but maybe someone else can tell you what is going on......)
