Thanks to the Crews descendants for donating a beautiful 1858 coffin handle from the casket of Malinda Duke Warner Crews to LCHS. The gravesites of John Warner and his wife Malinda were moved to Centerville Cemetery on Allison Prairie Friday, May 26, 2023 in accordance with Illinois regulations, and the expert assistance of Donn Grenda and his team of archaeologists from Statistical Research, Inc., Redlands, CA. The gravestones themselves had been reported as previously being relocated in the 1980s but it has been further learned that this probably occurred after 1996. A solemn ceremony by the descendants accompanied the reinterment.
