Hotel Lawrence 1920

 The directors of the new Hotel Lawrence leased the building to Woodson Moss for five years at a yearly rental of $6,000. Mr. Moss had been manager of a hotel in Winchester, Kentucky, for the previous 13 years. It was expected the hotel would open about October 1, 1920. In addition to the hotel business, the directors received $3,500 from the Indian Refining Co. for the fifth floor, $900 from the Chamber of Commerce for an office room on the first floor, $360 from a barber shop and $300 from the Postal Telegraph Co.



The Historical Society has the sign, but alas!, not the money to restore it.
