This past Saturday Nancy King and Donna Burton had the opportunity to share their thoughts about the core mission of the organization, a brief history, and how the Society enhances the local community with our programs, videos, books, and exhibits with Anna Miller, a college student. Discussing these topics and observing what we do was required for a class Anna was taking.
John King, Nancy and Donna will also be part of an Illinois Humanities panel presentation Thursday, April 20, to the Illinois Association of Museums discussing their experience with the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, Water Ways in 2016.
The Cemetery Project is looking for volunteers as well, both to clean gravestones and to research the "Dearly Departed". Contact Nancy 618-240-2021 or Marilyn 618-310-6452 for more information.
