Lawrence County News December 28, 1950

The employees of the Texas Company have arranged a large Christmas tree at the plant that is causing much comment. The new fluid catalytic cracking unit, located in the old section of the plan, has been bedecked with 150 colored lights and they have been so arranged that the display resembles a huge tree when seen from a distance.

Since the big unit is 200 feet tall, the Christmas tree can be seen for miles and miles in all directions. In fact, it is much prettier at a distance of several miles than at close range.

Readers: We thought we had a better photo, but we haven 't located it yet in all of our 891 photos of the refinery.

But if you have one, feel free to forward us a scan. Or better yet, come help us look for it. In the meantime,

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM ALL OF US AT THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY!!
