Making Moonshine or Not?
Lawrence County News reported on August 3, 1921 that two men from Vincennes and Marion Briggs of Lukin were arrested 2 weeks ago by Sheriff Stivers in connection with the operation of a still near Billett. They were given a hearing in county court and discharged. There was apparently no evidence to connect them with the operation of the still although Biehl Bros. of Billett testified they had sold defendants a number of barrels similar to those found by officers containing mash. The name of their attorney was not given.
