Daily Record February 17, 1931

George C. Armstrong, President of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, received a telegram from Congressman W. W. Arnold saying that Pres. Hoover recommended to Congress an immediate appropriation of $75,000 for the acquisition and construction of a new Federal building at Lawrenceville for use by the Post Office.


This was front page news during the Depression years in Lawrence County.
