This electric wall clock can be seen in our newest exhibit, Lawrence County Businesses. Black's Jewelry store was located on the north side of the Lawrenceville Square (#1113) from 1956-72. George H., Vincent Black and Mary Black were the jewelers. Gruen Company made wristwatches from 1894-1958 in Cincinnati. Thus the manufacturer date for this advertising piece is between 1956-1958. The top photo shows how it looked when it was received at LCHS the paint was flaking off the glass) and the bottom photo shows the clock after being restored by Sherrie Z.
