November 1950 The 355th Engineer Depot Company at Bridgeport, Illinois was activated and sent to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri for intensive training. With the unit went many lads from the Ohio Oil Company.

In uniform just before leaving for Leonard Wood are:

L to R: Sgt Ralph Seidel, producing; Sgt James O Jacobsen, producing; Sgt Charles E Hardy, pipeline; First Sgt Isaac J Wells, pipeline; Lt Steven Angle, producing; Capt Robert R Ernst, pipeline; and Master Sgt Ralph E Small, producing.


The Bridgeport Woman's Club and the Lions Club feted the boys with a basket dinner at the Lanterman Park Pavilion before they elft.
