ROAD DRAG DAY BIG SUCCESS

Twenty-One Drags, Thirty Men and Thirty Teams Assist in Dragging

Although there was only about three days’ notice of the Sumner Booster Club’s road drag day of last Saturday, yet the farmers responded magnificently and the day was a huge success. From all directions, the drags came, but especially from the north. All were given dinners and horse feed, there being 21 drags, 30 men and 30 teams. About 2:30 a dandy picture was taken of the men, teams and drags in the street at Carter’s corner and the Booster Club will present to each of the draggers a picture as soon as they are completed. In the afternoon, the band played a couple of selections and T.S. Gerhart made an excellent address on the road drag . . . Following is the list of names of those who dragged the roads, as near as could get them: George and John Fearheiley, H.H. Griffith, C.J. Sheraden, James Stoltz, Emerson Caudle, George Warren, Frank Burget, Clyde Stallard, J. W. Lancaster, Roy Lancaster, Wm Conway, Wallace Vangilder, Jess Huston, Chester Atkins, Oliver Baltzell, Guy Reynolds, W.H. Harris, Chas Discus, M. Ashbaugh, Frank Stout, W.R. Mitchell, Jesse Lewis, Cecil Ridgley, Pete Buzzard, O.F. Vangilder, James Schaffer, Otis Cavens, Chas.Umfleet, Sankie Piper, W.A. Hutchinson, Theodore Pepple.
